Lamme

Oscar Lamme is a partner at Simmons & Simmons in Amsterdam and head of the Intellectual Property group. He has almost two decades of experience in international patent litigation and other technology-related disputes. In addition to his patent work, Oscar regularly advises on a broad range of general IP matters, supporting clients with both contentious and non-contentious issues across the full spectrum of intellectual property.

Oscar helps clients navigate complex legal, commercial and technical challenges. With a background in industrial engineering, he is well placed to represent a wide variety of multinational clients active in telecom, electronics, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry.

His cases are mostly cross-jurisdictional and he often works at the intersection of different areas of law, such as patent law and competition law.

Oscar regularly publishes on patent law and frequently speaks at national and international congresses. He is also a lecturer at Radboud University for the Professional Training Programme for Dutch Patent Attorneys, teaching the UPC component of the Patent Law module.

Oscar is ranked in Band 3 in Chambers Global 2026, with sources stating: “He is an exceptional talent who not only has a strong legal background in matters related to IP and experience in litigation but is also especially outstanding with his sharp and friendly personality.” In Juve’s 2026 UPC rankings, Oscar is recognised as a recommended individual. In the 2025 edition of IAM Patent 1000, Oscar is listed in the Silver band, which notes that “he has broken new ground as a UPC specialist in the first UPC case in the Netherlands, testament to his unerring dedication to technical accuracy and litigatory excellence.” The Legal 500 lists him in 2025 as ‘Next Generation Partner’ both for Patent Litigation and Industry Focus: Life Sciences, citing that “Oscar Lamme has litigated complex international SEP cases before the Dutch court.
