Lauren is a UK qualified employment lawyer based in the firm’s US office in San Francisco and advises US clients on a range of employment issues relating to their international operations. She also acts as a main point of contact for US clients whenever they need support from our global employment practice group. Lauren’s clients include fast-growth tech companies, fintech companies, financial services firms and asset managers.
Lauren advises clients on a range of employment issues including senior executive exits, grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations, diversity, equity and inclusion policies and initiatives, data protection in the employment context and in relation to the UK financial services sector, the Senior Managers and Certification Regime. Lauren also provides employment input on corporate and real estate transactions and in relation to outsourcing arrangements.
Lauren co-developed the Simmons & Simmons UK Diversity and Inclusion Toolkit which provides cost-effective, practical and user-friendly templates and guidance for clients establishing a comprehensive D,E&I framework.
Lauren has significant experience defending employers in complex and high profile Employment Tribunal litigation in the UK. Recently Lauren has acted for clients defending disability discrimination, race and sex discrimination claims, whistleblowing claims with regulatory subject matter and unfair dismissal claims arising from disciplinary action against regulated employees. Lauren frequently represents senior individuals who are parties to the litigation as well as the employer.
Lauren also acts for clients in High Court claims in the UK. Her experience includes acting for an asset management firm on a business protection matter with complex jurisdiction issues and acting for a financial services firm in relation to high-value contractual breaches by a group of employees.
Lauren has an MBA in Legal Services.
