Central Bank of Ireland publishes Markets Update No 18 of 2026

On 30 October 2026, the Central Bank of Ireland (the Central Bank) published Issue No 18 2026 of its regular Markets Update, in which it sets out alerts of interest to Irish regulated firms and other market participants. For our summaries of the previous issues, please see the right-hand column of this page.

The new update contains a single item:

Feedback Statement to CP168 and MMF Guidance

On 8 June 2026, in a joint initiative with the French and Luxembourg regulators, the Central Bank published CP168, “Guidance on Money Market Fund Weekly Liquid Asset levels”.

The CP proposed guidance for enhanced MMF liquidity risk management practices based on market resilience levels recommended by the European Commission along with increased supervisory scrutiny and engagement where an MMF falls below these levels of liquidity.

The Central Bank has now published its Feedback Statement to the CP, containing Guidance on Money Market Fund Weekly Liquid Asset levels.

The Central Bank’s Guidance can be found on its guidance webpages for (a) UCITS and (b) AIFs.
