Sven is a supervising associate in our Düsseldorf office and part of our Employment team. He advises our clients on all employment law questions covering daily business as well as restructuring projects.

Sven's in-depth knowledge of company organisational restructuring enables him to give comprehensive advice on the implementation steps. Further focal points of his work are the labour law support of due diligence processes and the harmonisation of working conditions. Recent experience includes:

  • Advising a US-major corporation on the closure of a subsidiary in Germany, including the individual and collective settlements of the transaction
  • Advising a German company on business shutdown, mass dismissals and subsequent dismissal protection claims, special dismissal protection, separation agreements and severances.
  • Advising various companies on framework service agreements, employee leasing and false self-employment.
  • Advising private equity clients on M&A acquisition, transfer of parts of the business and post-acquisition integration.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures and handbooks in US companies.

After studying law at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Sven Lombard worked as a research assistant at a leading medium-sized German law firm. During his legal clerkship at the Regional Court Düsseldorf, Sven worked at the Chamber of Crafts in Düsseldorf and at a law firm in Wellington (New Zealand). He joined Simmons & Simmons in 2019 and has been a qualified lawyer since 2020.
