Andrew, a partner based in London, is a finance expert within our Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure team. His recent work spans a wide array of sectors including renewables (such as wind, solar, biogas, EfW and green hydrogen), conventional power, PPPs, mining, industrial processing, digital infrastructure and LNG.

Serving a diverse clientele that includes financiers, project sponsors, and public sector entities, Andrew advises on a variety of finance transactions. These range from multi-source project financings, trade finance, all manner of secured and unsecured lending to sovereign debt, showcasing his versatility in the field.

Fluent in Dutch and German, Andrew's international practice sees him advising on transactions across the globe, from Central Asia to Latin America. He also co-leads the Simmons & Simmons team focusing on Infrastructure Fund Formations and Transactions, further evidencing his pivotal role in cross-border dealings.

Andrew’s experience includes advising:

  • Stone City Energy, EDF, Nebras and Siemens Energy on the €1.3bn development and financing of a 1.56GW CCGT plant in Uzbekistan which includes two shari’ah compliant funding tranches and the funding by four DFI’s and two ECAs.
  • A Saudi Telecom entity on its joint venture with PPC Broadband and TTSA for the development and award winning financing of a sub-sea fibre optic cable project, linking Asia to Europe.
  • Gate terminal BV on the c.€390m expansion project financing for a fourth storage tank and associated industrial installations.
  • The funders on an innovative multi-source senior and junior financing for Open-Infra AB's fibre-to-the-home portfolio in Sweden and Germany.
  • European Investment Bank, NordLB, KfW IPEX-Bank and HSH Nordbank on the debt financing for the circa €800m Markbygden ETT wind farm in Sweden (Thomson Reuter European Wind Deal of the Year 2017) and the administration and debt restructuring which was completed in 2024.
