In the future, air cargo services will be offered under the name Swissport DUS Cargo Services. Düsseldorf Airport will hold 25.1% of the shares, while Swissport will own 74.9%. Swissport DUS Cargo Services will consist of the cargo business of Düsseldorf Airport as well as the cargo business of Swissport in Düsseldorf, both of which are included in the new joint company. The transaction is still subject to merger control clearance.
With the merger, two experienced cargo players will bundle their know-how and their logistics networks at the economically strong Düsseldorf hub. In the future, the company will benefit from the air freight expertise of Düsseldorf Airport. It'll also form a part of Swissport's global network with its diverse customer relationships.
