Anja specialises in private M&A transactions and related corporate law aspects as well as advising multi-national joint ventures. As part of our women’s network, she is also striving to retain and attract female talent within the firm.
Anja is a managing associate in our Corporate group in Düsseldorf. Anja advises international as well as national clients on cross-border, especially in M&A, projects. When it comes to mid-cap M&A transactions, Anja typically coordinates the due diligence team and supports the Corporate Partner in drafting and negotiating the SPA.

Another focus of her work is the advice of multi-national joint ventures. Anja is advising clients with regards to the formation of equity and non-equity joint ventures, especially in relation to the corresponding shareholder’s or cooperation agreements.
Work Anja has been involved with includes:
- advising Endava plc, a leading technology service provider, on its acquisition of Exozet Berlin GmbH, a leading German digital agency
- advising Düsseldorf International Airport on the restructuring and partial divestiture of the regional airport of Mönchengladbach and on the repatriation of certain off-balance sheet SPVs and real estate portfolios following the insolvency of Air Berlin
- advising real.digital on the formation of the joint venture International Marketplace Network (IMN), the first alliance of European e-commerce-platforms, real entered into with Cdiscount (France), eMAG (Romania) and ePrice (Italy)
- advising Aperam S.A. on the intended acquisition of VDM Metals Group from US Private Equity investor Lindsay Goldberg for EUR 600 million
- advising an investor in the acquisition of several wind parks and solar PV plants
- advising Gilde Equity Management on the acquisition of various German based temporary employment agency
- advising Biscuit International, a leading international waffles company, on the acquisition of A&W Feinbackwaren GmbH
- advising Metro AG on the cooperation Horizon International, a platform for negotiating the conditions of international services with suppliers, entered into with Auchan Retail, Casino Group and DIA Group
- advising BlackRock on the acquisition of a minority interest in a Fintech startup
Anja is also part of the Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure (ENRI) team of Simmons & Simmons in Germany.
Anja studied law with additional studies in common law in Münster, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, and Madrid, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She graduated in 2012 from Münster University. Afterwards, she worked on her PhD thesis at the University of Münster. She started working for Simmons & Simmons as a research assistant and worked during her traineeship in the Düsseldorf as well as the London office. In February 2017 Anja joined the Düsseldorf CoComm team as a lawyer.
