Martin is a Counsel in our Duesseldorf office and advises on contentious and non-contentious antitrust and intellectual property issues. As a specialist in antitrust law, Martin he offers practical legal advice and advises national and international clients on all contentious and non-contentious competition law, intellectual property and related commercial issues including representation in court as well as before the Bundeskartellamt and the European Commission.
Martin has constantly advised and represented companies in the telecoms, electronics and IT industry on matters involving FRAND licenses for standard-essential patents in various actions before the civil courts as well as other access claims.
Martin joined Simmons & Simmons as a lawyer in 2009. During his studies at the University of Jena, he specialised in intellectual property rights, copyright law and competition law and was awarded a PhD. Martin also holds a master’s degree course (LL.M. Regulation and Technology Law) at King’s College London focusing mainly on information and communication technology law.
