ESG: Modern Slavery in financial services

Watch on demand as we are joined by the UK’s Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner to discuss Modern Slavery in financial services.

Modern Slavery is one of the social factors (the S in ESG) which brings enormous risks to firms, in light of the products sold and supply chains in place.

In this session we were delighted to be joined by the UK’s Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, Dame Sara Thornton. We spoke to Dame Sara about the Commission’s reports: Preventing Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking: an agenda for action across the financial sector (released in January 2021) and The role of the financial sector in eradicating modern slavery: CEOs respond to the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner (released in September 2021). We heard about the practical steps that firms and their senior managers should be taking to address the risks posed by Modern Slavery and the challenges they face in doing so.
