Dr Hans Peter (‘Peter’) Leube is a partner in our Corporate practice in Frankfurt. He has more than two decades of experience advising on complex M&A and private equity transactions, with a particular focus on mid‑market and upper mid‑market deals. Peter advises German and international private equity funds and infrastructure investors on buy‑out transactions, minority and growth investments as well as on equity participation schemes.
His work spans the full spectrum of corporate transactional matters, including public and private M&A, private equity, distressed transactions and restructurings. Peter has a strong sector focus on technology, telecommunications, digital infrastructure (including fibre and data centres), IT/software and digital health. He is recognised for his extensive experience in FTTH and wider digital‑infrastructure investments and for his deep knowledge of the German and European transactional landscape.
Before joining Simmons, Peter was a partner at an international law firm, advising on complex cross‑border private equity and corporate transactions. Previously, he held senior leadership roles within the global private equity group and the German corporate practice of another major international firm. He also brings valuable industry-side insight from a senior leadership role at a major German broadband provider, where he supported a significant financial restructuring, and earlier experience at several leading international law firms.
Peter is recognised by leading legal directories, including The Legal 500 EMEA (Corporate and M&A; Telecoms), Best Lawyers / Handelsblatt (Venture Capital) and JUVE (Telecommunications; Private Equity Mid‑Cap).
He studied law at the University of Bonn and LMU Munich, where he completed his doctorate, and holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in New York. He works fluently in German, English and French.
