James is a Partner in the Financial Services group in London. He advises private fund sponsors on all aspects of house, fund and investment regulation, as well as regulated fund formation.

James advises on all regulatory matters affecting GPs, including AIFMD, MiFID, MAR, SMCR, client documentation, compliance policies and procedures, anti-financial crime requirements, cross-border business and interactions with regulators. He is part of the firm’s Sustainability group, advising GPs on ESG issues across their business, including SFDR.

James also specialises in advising sponsors on their private wealth business, from formation of evergreens, to distribution agreements, to regulatory, commercial and operational matters unique to this segment.
