Janine is an Associate based in our Munich office who specializes in intellectual property law.
Her focus areas include trademark, design, unfair competition and copyright law as well as plant variety law. She advises national and international clients and is involved in litigation of such rights. Recent work includes:
- litigation and protection of intellectual property rights for one of the largest high-tech gaming technology companies worldwide as well as providing ongoing advice in IP and gaming law
- ongoing advice to Samsung on competition and trademark law issues
- advising Star Fruits and Apple and Pear Australia in trademark law as well as in European plant variety law
- legal representation and ongoing advice in trademark and unfair competition law (passing off) for a leading dairy company
- advice on M&A transactions in the field of intellectual property law
Janine joined us in 2017 after having completed her LL.M. degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and her admission to the German Bar in 2016. Before, she absolved her legal traineeship in Munich while working for a leading British international law firm and studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. During her time at Simmons & Simmons she has also worked in our Beijing office.
Janine very actively engages in the German-Korean Legal Society (DKJG) and is a member of the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL) as well as the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
