Our experience

Asset manager

We advised a global asset management company on its $1.3bn acquisition. The IP team worked closely with the wider deal team and led the technology aspects of the transaction, helping our client assess the technology and IP risks presented by the deal in the context of a fast moving and competitive auction process. This included advice on the integrating 700 clients in 48 countries with our clients' existing investment platform, to offer the industry’s most comprehensive whole portfolio investment operating platform.

Global bank

Our transactional IP team worked with our corporate, regulatory, data privacy and employment teams to advise this global bank's strategic investment team on its participation in Bud’s $20m Series A investment round, alongside a number of other strategic investors. The IP team led the technology aspects of the diligence of Bud’s open banking banking platform.

Sumitomo Rubber

Advising Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. on the 137.5m of Sports Direct International plc’s trade mark rights to the Dunlop brand and related sporting goods and licensing businesses. The transaction involved the detailed review and assessment of the extensive Dunlop trade mark portfolio and licensing framework.
