Jens is heading the ENRI team of Simmons & Simmons in Germany. Whilst Jens is a partner with a special focus on banking and financial law in our Frankfurt office, he gained also a wide experience in all kind of renewable, energy and infrastructure transactions.
Jens advises banks, funds and sponsors on all questions relating to structured financing, in particular cash flow - based loans. In addition to domestic and foreign syndicated loans, real estate financing, export financing, mezzanine structures and refinancing, he also advises banks, funds, institutional investors and sponsors on all questions relating to renewable energy projects, including M&A, project finance, HoldCo financings and structured finance, in particular cash flow based loans in the energy, infrastructure and renewable sector.
Among other things, he acted as a legal advisor to the financing parties in respect of the financing of the PPP project on the A10 and A24 motorways between the Neuruppin junction and the Pankow motorway junction, amounting to around €620m in total, as well as to the creditors (including BlackRock, ING, Pricoa Private Capital, UniCredit and two ancillary RCF & VAT facilities) on the €855m financing for Berlin-based unicorn Enpal group. Jens was on secondment with the European Investment Bank and therefore has extensive knowledge about financing processes involving the European Investment Bank.
