  • In our December 2024 Building Safety Update: Government’s “Remediation Acceleration Plan we summarise the UK Government’s new proposals to speed up the pace of remediation work and further to protect residents and leaseholders.

  • Our January 2022 Building Safety Bill update looks at 4 main topics including a recent cladding claim judgment (Naylor v Roamquest), Government statement on 10 January 2022 about proposed building safety changes, publication of BSI guidance PAS9980 and draft changes to the Building Safety Bill.

  • Our November 2021 Building Safety Bill update looks at the current status of the Building Safety Bill, the expected timeline for its passage and when its various provisions are likely to come into force, and at changes in relation to remediation costs intimated by the incoming Secretary of State for the Department of Levelling up, Housing and Communities.

  • Our October 2021 Building Safety update summarises the progress of the Building Safety Bill as it continues its way through the parliamentary process. We look at the submissions and evidence heard by the Select Committee so far, and proposed amendments to the Bill.

  • Our note in relation to the updated draft of the Building Safety Bill published on 5 July 2021, which contains new proposals regarding recovery by landlords and retrospective extension of owners' rights under the Defective Premises Act 1972.
