In an era of rapid technological advancement, organisations face the dual challenge of embracing innovation while navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. "Hack to the Future: Institutionalising Compliance and 'Digital by Design'" explored how businesses can future-proof themselves by embedding compliance into their digital strategies from the ground up.
Inspired by the creativity and forward-thinking spirit of iconic 80s and 90s films, this year's UK Digital Day 2025 theme encouraged organisations to adopt bold and innovative approaches to tackling modern challenges. From the rise of AI and automated decision-making to safeguarding data and intellectual property, the need for a proactive, "digital by design" mindset has never been more critical.
Agenda Highlights
- Mission: Possible? - Operating effectively in increasingly tech-regulated environments.
- The (Risk) Matrix - We see the growing sophistication and complexity of major IP and tech disputes facing businesses and how the courts are addressing them (e.g. Getty Images v Stability AI, IBM v. LzLabs and patent FRAND litigation). What strategies should businesses put in place to manage these risks, put their best position forwards and ensure appropriate governance and oversight.
We were delighted to welcome a keynote speaker from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who provided a regulator's perspective on these critical issues.
