Simmons advises PE specialist Kester on buy-out of The Boundary

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised PE house Kester Capital on the management buy-out of architectural visualisation firm, The Boundary.

The investment from Kester represents the third investment out of its latest fund, Kester Capital III - which closed at its hard cap in March 2024.

The Boundary is a global leader in architectural visualisation, serving the world's largest real estate developers. The firm specialises in marketing-grade digital twins, photorealistic visualisations and marketing suite software for the real estate industry.

The transaction was led by partner Tim Hewens, supported by partner Richard Kyle and Of Counsel Linda Zemen from Simmons' private equity team. Senior Associate Hana Bell, Associate Ella Wardena and Trainee Solicitors Shweta Padmanabhan and Tabitha Robson also worked with the Kester Capital team on the investment.

Leveraged finance partner Laurie Keel and tax partner Helen Coward provided finance and tax structuring support respectively.

Each of the partners and senior team members were recruited over the course of 2024, as part of a strategic investment to further expand the firm's private equity capabilities.

Commenting on the deal, Tim Hewens said:

We are very pleased to have supported longstanding client Kester Capital on this significant transaction - the first deal which Simmons has completed for them. The firm has prioritised the expansion of its private equity offering over the last year with the private equity team continuing to grow.  We were delighted to bring this expertise to support the Kester team.
