International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised private equity firm Growth Capital Partners (GCP) on its investment in leading social media and influencer agency, Coolr.
Founded in 2017, London-based Coolr has grown to become one of the UK’s leading independent social media and influencer agencies today.
GCP is a private equity firm with over 24 years of experience, specialising in the technology and service sectors. The firm invests between £10m and £50m of equity funding in businesses valued between £25m and £150m.
The Simmons team supporting GCP on the acquisition was led by private equity partner Tim Hewens.
Simmons has recently expanded its private equity offering, hiring two highly experienced PE partners over the last 6 months – Tim Hewens and Richard Kyle.
The GCP deal follows two other recent deals led by the firm’s expanded private equity team – advising PE houses Tenzing and Kester Capital in separate deals, which both closed in July.
Commenting on the deal, Tim Hewens said: “This is an exciting investment for Growth Capital Partners in an impressive agency on an upward trajectory. It was great to work with the GCP team again and complete a transaction for them at Simmons.”
