Irish and EU legal and regulatory update: July 2020 - September 2020

The Investment Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Bill 2020 was published and introduced into the Seanad (upper house) on 17 September 2020. The CBI has issued its timeframes for receipt of new fund applications and post-authorisation amendments with pre-Christmas or pre-year end deadlines. On 20 October 2020, the CBI published the outcome of the thematic review of fund management companies. The CBI issued the 30th edition of the UCITS Q&A and the 35th edition of the AIFMD Q&A. The Central Bank Reform Act 2010 (Sections 20 and 22) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 came into operation. On 24 August 2020, the CBI published a statement on the use of electronic signatures in regulatory documents and forms.
