Tjerk is a partner in the Amsterdam office. He is part of the notarial team and specialises in corporate transactions and asset management & investment funds transactions. He mainly advises international and domestic private equity firms and corporates on a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, leveraged buyouts, takeovers, mergers, joint ventures and corporate restructurings, the establishment of investment funds, fund investments, separate managed accounts, carried interest schemes, as well as day-to-day counselling of public and private companies on a wide range of matters.
Tjerk is fluent in Dutch and English.
Before joining Simmons & Simmons as a partner, Tjerk worked at Allen & Overy LLP and Clifford Chance LLP. Tjerk holds a degree in Notarial Law from the University of Leiden. He has previously also worked in London, and has also spent time working in-house in the legal team of a global PE firm.
