Stefan Birkle is an Associate in the Corporate/M&A and Energy/Infrastructure practice at our Düsseldorf office. He advises national and international companies on matters of corporate, energy and public commercial law. His particular focus is on project development and joint ventures.
Stefan studied law at the University of Bonn, specializing in corporate law. He gained experience as a research assistant and legal trainee in several international law firms in Düsseldorf in the Corporate/M&A field. He also worked in the legal departments of major corporations, including a leading European provider of renewable energy. Several stays abroad further complement his international profile.
Admitted to the bar in 2024, Stefan initially practiced antitrust and energy law at a commercial law firm. He advised clients on public law matters, including state aid and foreign trade matters. He now brings his expertise to the Energy practice at Simmons & Simmons, where he supports clients in navigating regulatory frameworks and executing strategic transactions.
