Cheryl is a supervising associate in the Hong Kong office. Cheryl’s practice focuses on asset management and investment funds, with a specialization in private funds.
With more than 10 years of legal experience in both corporate and funds work, Cheryl represents both fund managers and investors on matters arising out of the entire life cycle of investment funds - from formation to termination. She regularly advises on the formation of, as well as primary and secondary investments into, closed-ended and open-ended investment vehicles, including private equity funds, venture capital funds and hedge funds. She also regularly advises fund management clients on regulatory and licensing issues in connection with the operation and marketing of their funds in Hong Kong.
Cheryl joined Simmons & Simmons in 2019. During her time with the firm, Cheryl has completed a mini-secondment with the private funds team in the firm’s London office, and a secondment with the firm’s Navigator team, assisting on the development of cross-border regulatory content in over 140 jurisdictions across 8 services.
Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, she practiced corporate and commercial law, with a focus on private merger and acquisition transactions, including joint ventures and private equity transactions, as well as private equity funds formation.
Cheryl is native in English and fluent in Cantonese.
