Tina is qualified as German attorney-at-law and certified information technology law specialist and has completed a Master’s degree at Columbia Law School in New York. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and advises domestic and foreign businesses on all matters of IT and Data Protection Law, Online Marketing and E-commerce. Her special focus is on cross-border issues in IT and Data Protection Law and with a special focus on the interface to online marketing and ad tech including new technological developments in the area of Artificial Intelligence. Another focus of her legal practice is on international data transfers and data protection issues in global compliance projects, internal investigations and M&A transactions.
Tina regularly publishes in professional and international journals and appears as a speaker at IT and Data Protection Law related conferences and (inhouse) seminars.
She is ranked among “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” for data protection and information technology by Handelsblatt in cooperation with Best Lawyers in 2021.
After her legal studies in Muenster, Tina intensified her focus on IT law as research assistant at the Chair of Information, Telecommunications and Media law and in her doctoral thesis on traffic data retention. During her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg she worked for international law firms, a public broadcaster and the German Embassy in Seoul. Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, she worked for leading international law firms in Berlin and Munich.
