Ignacio is a partner in the Corporate & Commercial practice of our Madrid office, with extensive experience in all aspects of commercial law. He has a particular focus on M&A and private equity matters. Prior to joining Simmons, he worked for more than 15 years at a Magic Circle firm and a top U.S. firm.
He regularly plans, manages, and executes mergers, acquisitions, company restructurings, corporate governance, asset purchases and joint venture projects for international and domestic clients. He also has experience advising special opportunity funds and companies in restructuring & insolvency matters in Spain.
His area of expertise encompasses a wide number of sectors, including energy, health care, industrials, infrastructure and sports.
He holds a degree in Law, a degree in Political Science and studied a Masters of Laws at Harvard Law School thanks to a scholarship from La Caixa. He remains closely linked to this institution through the Harvard Club of Spain, where he serves as President of its Board of Trustees.
Ignacio is the Chairman of UNICEF Madrid since January 2020 and is an associate professor of Business Law at IE University.
