Charlotte is the Senior Knowledge Lawyer for the Financial Services Regulation team, based in London. Previously a Supervising Associate, she transitioned into this role in May 2024 and has since played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s regulatory knowledge offering. Her focus includes investor protection, product governance, and the evolving financial services regulatory landscape.

Deep Technical Knowledge

Charlotte advises financial institutions on UK and EU regulatory frameworks, including MiFID2, PRIIPs/CCIs, Consumer Duty, CRD6, SM&CR, and FSMA23. She interprets complex regulatory perimeter issues, drafts thought leadership pieces, and reviews policies and client-facing documentation. Charlotte is particularly recognised for her expertise in investor protection under MiFID2 and the PRIIPs Regulation, and now the UK’s Consumer Composite Investments (CCI) regime.

A Voice of Industry

Charlotte supports trade association initiatives, including work with AFME and UKSPA. She held the pen on AFME’s responses to the FCA’s Consumer Duty Call for Input and MiFID Org Reg review and assisted UKSPA in responding to the FCA CCI Consultation Paper. Charlotte also collaborates with IA, TISA, ICMA, and AFB and runs a roundtable for private bank and wealth management clients, keeping them informed of regulatory developments.

An Eye on the Horizon

Charlotte tracks key UK and EU legislative developments, including the RIS, MiFID2/3, the Leeds Reforms, cryptoasset reform/MiCA, and PSD3. She also contributes to the firm’s CRD6 Manager | https://www.simmons-simmons.com/en/products.
