Stefania is a partner and co-head of the IP practice in our Milan office. She is also co-head of the patent cross border group of Simmons & Simmons worldwide. She regularly assists clients, including on a pan-European level, on an extensive range of judicial and extra-judicial matters of IP law, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks and domain names, appellations of origin and geographical indications, industrial design, copyright and related rights, unfair competition, and arbitration.
Stefania is a registered representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and member of the Executive Committee of AIPPI Italia, President of the Italian Patent Group, and Vice Chair of the Enforcement Committee of AIPPI International. She is a member, and deeply involved in the activities, of other main IP associations including LES and INTA.
Stefania is regularly a speaker at IP conferences and authored publications in the IP field.
She teaches at the Industrial Property Course-Patents organized by the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano; at the course EPL to become UPC representative, certified by the UPC, organized by the Politecnico di Milano; at WIPO-Harvard Law School Course in Patent Law and Global Public Health, at online course organised by Harvard University; and taught at the University of Parma the course “Legislation and Patents – Chemical and Biotech Patents and GMO Legislation”. She is also member of the editorial board of the most representative IP legal review in Italy (Giurisprudenza Annotata di Diritto Industriale).
Stefania holds a PhD in IP Law from the University of Parma.
She is listed as a leading individual in The Legal 500 and ranked in Chambers Global/Europe. She is also listed in IP Stars as a Patent Star in the patent strategy and counselling category and mentioned as Top 250 Women in IP.
Stefania has been recently awarded as Lawyer of the Year at the Legalcommunity IP&TMT 2025 and IP Lawyer of the Year at the Legalcommunity IP&TMT Awards 2024.
