Neil is Of Counsel in our Digital Business group in London.

Neil advises on regulatory issues and commercial transactions across a wide range of industry sectors, including financial institutions, technology, telecoms, and life sciences. He is a specialist in data protection and cybersecurity compliance and other aspects of digital regulation.

Neil's experience includes advising:

  • a major banking group on the full range of data protection and privacy compliance matters
  • a global pharmaceutical and biotechnology group on a study of its privacy governance framework, AI law issues and other regulatory matters
  • a leading Internet exchange operator on commercial and regulatory matters related to its UK operations and internal expansion
  • a financial services business on legal and regulatory issues related to the launch of a novel salary finance solution
  • an international banking group on the procurement of a technology stack to support the launch of the world's first digital Islamic bank
  • a leading UK pensions business on its response to a cybersecurity incident affecting a major outsourced IT service provider
  • a US-based pharmaceuticals business on compliance with UK data protection laws
  • on the creation of regulatory obligations trackers on behalf of an international banking group
  • a global energy business on the procurement of a charge point management system and related services
  • other major businesses on:
    • compliance in the context of data breaches and complex data subject access requests

Neil is co-contributing editor to the UK chapter of Getting the Deal Through: Cybersecurity 2024 (and earlier editions).

Earlier in his career, Neil spent several years with our UAE office, where he supported local and international clients doing business across the Middle East.
