What began as Munich Digital Day has evolved into TECH: ignite, Simmons & Simmons’ global flagship series at the intersection of law, technology and innovation. The Munich edition marked an important milestone in this journey, firmly embedding the event within our international TECH: ignite series dedicated to exploring the legal, commercial and strategic forces shaping the future of technology.

Key topics and takeaways

On 7 May 2026, senior legal, compliance and technology leaders came together in Munich for a one day, in person event focused on “AI Agents, Governance & the EU Digital Rulebook”. Discussions centred on:

  • self directed AI agents and AI powered robotics
  • AI governance and compliance in high risk environments
  • the EU Digital Rulebook, including the EU AI Act and Data Act
  • emerging global AI and data regimes across the US, China, and Asia

The event provided a practical and forward looking perspective on how organisations can navigate the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape while enabling innovation. Participants heard first hand insights from regulators, industry pioneers and in house counsel at leading technology and industrial companies.
