Event

On 2 June, we hosted a special live webinar marking the launch of our Blue Economy Insights Guide, “Seas of Opportunity: A Guide to the Blue Economy - the result of a unique collaboration between Simmons and leading UK charity, the Marine Conservation Society.

This event celebrates the culmination of our 17-episode podcast series, “Seas of Opportunity: Navigating the Blue Economy”, in which we brought together voices from business, policy, finance, and conservation to explore the key challenges and opportunities facing our ocean.

In this session, we reflect on what we’ve learned, look ahead to what’s next, and introduce a compelling new guide that distils the series’ key takeaways — launched just ahead of two major milestones: the Blue Economy & Finance Forum (BEFF) and the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).

Together with James Merchant from the Marine Conservation Society and Ralph Chami, economist and one of our podcast guests, Sonali Siriwardena, our Global Head of ESG, explore:

  • Why the Blue Economy is rising on the global agenda;
  • Lessons from across the 17 episodes;
  • What comes next for ocean finance, innovation, and policy; and
  • How cross-sector collaboration can drive meaningful change.

This webinar is now available OnDemand should you still wish to join us for this moment of reflection, conversation and ambition - and to be part of the journey ahead.
