Whilst not all of the proposals apply to all firms, the regulators have suggested that all firms consider whether they want to apply the proposals on a voluntary basis.

We were delighted that Georgina Philippou joined us for this webinar. Georgina spent 30 years in senior roles at the FCA (and its predecessors) and was most recently the Senior Adviser leading on the FCA's D&I policy approach (including leading on the joint regulators' D&I Discussion Paper and liaising with firms in relation to follow up work).

The webinar covered:

  • Background and the journey to these Consultation Papers
  • Non-Financial Misconduct (which applies to all firms)
  • A deep dive on the specific D&I proposals, including: strategies and targets; the collection and reporting of data; governance and accountability
  • Our high level thoughts on some of the trickier areas to be addressed

We will be hosting some in-person round tables in our London City Point offices so that the views of our clients are reflected in our responses to the papers - please do let us know if you would like more information about these round tables. Even if you cannot attend, we would be pleased to discuss the proposals with you.

Responses to the Consultation Papers are due by 18 December 2023, with the rules becoming effective one year after the Policy Statement is published which is expected in 2024. Reporting may not be required until 2026.
