Black History Month: meet Maggie Alphonsi MBE
International women’s rugby star Maggie Alphonsi MBE talks about her sporting career, performing under pressure and challenging perceptions.
We're holding a 2021 Black History Month event where we'll be joined by international women’s rugby star Maggie Alphonsi MBE.
Maggie will be talking to us about her sporting career, performing under pressure and challenging perceptions.
As the face of international women’s rugby and before her international retirement in 2014, she represented England 74 times, scoring 28 tries and helping England win a record breaking seven consecutive Six Nations Crowns. Maggie is one of just four females on the Rugby Football Union’s Council, which includes a leading role on its Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group.
Join us from 6pm for drinks and nibbles. The main event will start at 7pm and there will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end. If you are based outside of Bristol or would prefer to join the event virtually, the event will also be live-streamed via Microsoft Teams. If you would like to attend please register before 28 October.
