Private wealth online: regulations and considerations
We will look at the core Hong Kong and Singapore regulations that apply to the life cycle of the private wealth relationship and consider online activities.
The question of how suitability obligations impact your platform arises long before any customer interaction takes place. The platform needs to be designed to take account of the customer journey, and although many platforms are conceived as execution only platforms, it is important to recognise that customers will choose to use the platform in a way which suits them. This means that the customer relationship may change from transaction to transaction. How do you control this process?
In this session we will take a look at the core regulations that apply to the life cycle of the private wealth relationship and consider their application to online activities. Our speakers will use a case study to illustrate the types of issues to be considered in relation to platform design, drafting warnings, disclaimers and special T&Cs which recognise the possibility of a dynamic relationship which may change from execution only to advisory based on a phone call or a text.
The case study will be sent to all who register for the session prior to the event.
This webinar follows on from the online distribution and advisory platforms for private banks and virtual banks session on 30 June. If you missed it, catch up on demand here.
