International law firm Simmons & Simmons has assisted VEI Green, an investment company active in the renewable energy sector and controlled by PFH Holding, on the sale of the entire share capital of ENS Solar Five S.r.l., a company owning a portfolio of 15 operational photovoltaic plants.
Located in Puglia and Basilicata in southern Italy, the plants hold a total capacity of 14.5 MWp.
The Simmons & Simmons team was led, for M&A matters, by Partner Tommaso Tomaiuolo, head of the firm’s Energy, Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Construction (ENRIC) sector in Italy, and supervising associate Andrea Pototschnig.
The sale of the portfolio took place following the reactivation of government-backed financial incentives for the majority of the photovoltaic plants, as a result of successful litigation handled by Simmons & Simmons.
The firm’s litigation team composed of Partner Mauro Pisapia, head of the Dispute Resolution department in Italy, counsel Luigi Pontrelli, and supervising associate Martina Baraldo, who also oversaw the administrative law aspects connected with the transaction.
Tommaso Tomaiuolo commented: “We are proud to have supported VEI Green on this strategically important sale with our cross-practice team in Italy. Combining our experience in both transactional and dispute resolution matters, this mandate reflects our deep expertise in the renewable energy sector.”
