Simmons & Simmons' PE team advises Tillo on acquisition of Amilon

Simmons & Simmons' cross-border private equity team has advised Tillo on its acquisition of Amilon

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised Tillo, the global rewards, incentives and gift card platform, on its acquisition of Amilon, Italy’s long-standing market leader in digital incentives, gift cards and employee benefits.

The transaction marks a major milestone in Tillo’s international growth strategy, creating a stronger combined platform for rewards, incentives and gift cards. Together, Tillo and Amilon form as a transatlantic leader in the industry, with expanded scale, supplier reach and market access for customers and partners across Europe, North America and APAC.

Collectively, the combined business expects to process over £3 billion worth of gift cards in 2026 and grow 30% year-on-year.

Simmons & Simmons advised Tillo with a cross-border corporate team led by London-based partner Tim Hewens and Milan-based partner Laura Fiordelisi.

The transaction showcases the firm’s private equity and cross-border M&A capabilities in the European tech and digital value sectors. It also builds on the firm’s advice to growth investor Tenzing on its investment in Tillo in 2025.

Tim Hewens commented:This transaction brings together two highly complementary businesses and is a significant step in Tillo’s European growth story. It underlines our ability to support clients on complex, cross-border M&A in the tech-enabled value and payments space.
