A cross-border team from international law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised private equity firm Kester Capital on its investment in Databalance, a leading managed IT services platform serving the Dutch market.
Databalance provides managed IT services to more than 400 upper mid-market customers across the Netherlands, with a comprehensive offering spanning infrastructure, hybrid and hyperscaler cloud, modern workplace, cybersecurity and Data & AI.
The existing management team, together with existing shareholder 5CS Capital Partners, will remain invested alongside Kester to support the next phase of growth.
The transaction highlights the firm's integrated cross-border, private equity capabilities, and deep technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) expertise. It follows Kester's recent investment in Dublin headquartered Nutritics, on which Simmons & Simmons also advised.
The team advising Kester was jointly led by London-based corporate partner and private equity specialist Tim Hewens and Amsterdam-based corporate partner Vincent Dogan, who joined the firm this year to further strengthen the firm's private equity offering in the Netherlands.
Commenting on the deal, Vincent Dogan said: "This transaction showcases our growing private equity practice in the Netherlands and the strength of our integrated international platform."
Tim Hewens added: "It has been great for our team to support Kester on another cross-border investment, underlining our ability to deploy cohesive international teams for our private equity clients."
