Simmons & Simmons advised private equity firm GCP on its minority investment in SecurityHQ, a global managed security service provider

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has successfully advised private equity firm Growth Capital Partners (GCP) on its minority investment in SecurityHQ, a leading global Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP).

SecurityHQ is a tech-enabled MSSP offering Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services globally, as well as threat and risk intelligence, device management, and protection services, providing clients with a premium, personalised, 24/7 cybersecurity service. The company has scaled rapidly, with a team of over 400 cybersecurity experts across six geographies.

This investment partnership aligns with GCP’s strategy of backing ambitious, technology-led businesses that deliver critical value for clients through data, insight, and innovation. The partnership will allow SecurityHQ to drive innovation and expand its global reach.

The Simmons & Simmons team advising GCP on the investment was led by corporate partner and private equity specialist Tim Hewens.

Simmons previously advised GCP on its investment in leading social media and influencer agency, Coolr in 2024.

This most recent deal for GCP caps a strong year for the firm’s private equity team, which has recently expanded its capabilities further through the hire of partner Gemma Phillips in London.

Commenting on the deal, Tim said: “We were delighted to work with GCP again and advise them on this strategic investment in SecurityHQ. The partnership marks an exciting step for both businesses.”
