International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised leading global hospitality company Hyatt Hotels Corporation on its acquisition of Standard International.
The deal for Standard International – a lifestyle hospitality company – will see US-headquartered Hyatt acquire management, franchise and license contracts for 22 open hotels in locations including London, New York, Bangkok and Singapore. 30 future hotel projects are also included as part of the deal.
The strategic acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Hyatt’s fast-growing lifestyle portfolio.
An experienced cross-border Simmons team, comprising its corporate practices in both London and Madrid, advised Hyatt on the transaction. US firm Venable LLP acted as lead counsel on the deal, with Simmons supporting on the UK and Spanish elements.
Simmons’ London team was led by UK Corporate partners Isabella Roberts and Arthur Stewart.
The firm’s Madrid team was led by Ignacio Domínguez, M&A specialist and partner in the Corporate and Commercial practice, supported by Supervising Associate, Carlos Cantera.
