Dublin-based Acacia, one of the two largest owner-managed integrated facilities management providers in Ireland, is to be acquired by Apleona, a European market leader in integrated facilities management based in Frankfurt am Main. The sale is subject to merger control clearance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
With approximately 230 employees across Ireland, Acacia provides the full range of FM services to its clients, including numerous blue chip businesses and global players in the financial services and technology sectors. Acacia also offers consultancy services with a focus on ESG, health and safety, and workplace strategies.
Apleona has almost 1,300 employees in Ireland with a considerable number of industrial customers in sectors such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals. The Acacia acquisition significantly expands Apleona’s leading market position in Ireland as an integrated facility management provider with a focus on technical services, making it one of the top three providers in this market segment.
David O’Brien, Managing Director of Acacia said: “The team at Simmons did an excellent job of guiding us through the sale process strategically and efficiently – it was a pleasure working with them.”
The cross-border Simmons & Simmons team was led by Corporate partner David Brangam with assistance from Christine Quigley, Jennifer Watters, Aoife McDonough and Geoff Curran in Dublin and Jessica Lang and Markus Schmid in Munich.
