Markus is a counsel in our corporate practice. He advises German and international clients on all aspects of corporate law. His focus lies on domestic and cross-border M&A and Private Equity transactions as well as corporate restructurings.
He advised clients, including Private Equity clients, such as ARDIAN, DBAG, EQT and Gimv as well as strategic investors on a broad variety of transactions involving various industry sectors, including but not limited to the following ones:
- Gimv on the acquisition of a majority stake in Köberl Group;
- EQT on its sale of BackWerk Group to Valora Group;
- ARDIAN on its sale of frostkrone group to Emeram; and
- Teva pharmaceuticals on its acquisition of Ratiopharm.
Markus studied law at the university of Augsburg as well as attended a LL.M. program at the university of Durham (UK). Before joining the Simmons team in Munich he worked for several international law firms in Munich.
