In today’s podcast, we discuss our initial thoughts on the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Bill 2022 that was introduced into parliament on 1 March 2022.
We examine the provisions in the bill which will, when enacted, create a register of overseas entities. The register will affect overseas entities which own land in the UK and all those who lend money to them.
The Bill contains other provisions but our primary focus in this podcast is how the register will operate and how it might affect UK real estate market players and the UK real estate finance market.
