The CSSF has announced that the UK will be added to the list of equivalent jurisdictions with effect as of 1 January 2021. UK firms can now officially apply for the Luxembourg National Equivalence Regime for the purpose of providing MiFID investment services or activities on a cross-border basis. This means that UK firms will be able to carry out these activities as well as ancillary services in Luxembourg to eligible counterparties and per se professional clients without setting up a branch in Luxembourg (the “national third-country regime”).

Firms who have not already done so should submit a complete application as soon as possible. For more information please contact your Luxembourg team.
