Gareth is an experienced derivatives and structured finance lawyer, advising financial institutions and corporate clients on complex rates and credit derivatives, structured credit and risk transfer transactions.
Gareth has wide experience across financial markets legal practice and was recognised by Legal 500 as a “UK Next Generation Lawyer” in debt capital markets for his trustee advisory work.
Before joining us, Gareth spent nearly eight years as senior in-house counsel in the FIC Sales & Trading team at a leading investment bank, advising the rates and credit desks across a broad range of derivatives and structured finance matters. His experience includes finance-linked hedging, secondary and portfolio transactions, credit derivatives and protection trades, and in- and out-of-court restructurings, as well as advising on lifecycle and distress events such as defaults and close-outs.
