Elizabeth acts for London and Bermuda market insurers and reinsurers on complex, contentious insurance and reinsurance coverage matters, often with an international element.
Elizabeth’s practice is focused on three areas in particular: (1) She has extensive experience of acting for insurers in complex, high-value coverage disputes involving Political Risk and Trade Credit matters. (2) Elizabeth also regularly advises Bermuda Form insurers on a range of excess liability claims arising from mass tort litigation in the US. (3) In addition, Elizabeth has extensive experience representing insurers of global manufacturing companies in connection with complex, high-value and cross-jurisdictional product liability and product recall claims. Her work on products related matters spans a range of sectors, including the pharmaceutical, automotive, food and drink and agro-chemical industries.
Recent examples of Elizabeth’s work include successfully defending excess insurers in Swiss arbitration proceedings worth $250m relating to US mass-tort claims involving a herbicide. She has also recently advised insurers on various significant product liability claims in connection with allegedly defective medical devices and automotive parts.
