Luis is a litigator with over 18 years of experience, specializing in Restructuring and Insolvency (R&I). As Head of Restructuring & Insolvency, Luis provides strategic guidance to clients facing complex financial and legal challenges across domestic and international markets.
Luis has played a key role in many of Spain’s most prominent restructuring processes in recent years, both domestic and international. His expertise covers everything from structuring initial deals to managing all procedural aspects related to the court sanctioning of restructuring agreements. On the insolvency front, Luis advises major corporations, financial institutions, and investment funds on a wide range of insolvency and pre-insolvency matters, including pre-pack acquisitions. His experience includes advising high-profile insolvency proceedings at both national and international levels, involving complex corporate collapses and cross-border restructurings.
Luis is also highly regarded for his work in complex work-out and asset recovery scenarios, particularly those involving mortgage and pledge enforcement in contentious creditor-debtor situations. He has advised on numerous distressed real estate debt transactions, from portfolio acquisition to divestment, with a strong focus on work-out strategy and execution.
In connection with his R&I and asset recovery work, Luis has extensive experience in corporate and civil disputes across various sectors and court levels. He has been involved in a wide array of enforcement procedures, both judicial and extrajudicial.
Beyond his legal practice, Luis is also a dedicated lecturer in insolvency law. Since 2018, he has been delivering lectures at Universidad Villanueva and is a frequent speaker at IE University. He is also a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA Spain), reflecting his active engagement with the broader legal and business communities.
