Brian is counsel in the firm’s Tax team. He is an Irish solicitor (2000) and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA/AITI) (2004) with extensive experience advising clients on tax controversy, structured finance transactions, tax structuring, inward investment, real estate tax, M&A and personal taxation matters. Brian provides taxation advice to a broad base of clients across a range of industry sectors, including financial institutions, asset management, healthcare & life sciences, insurance, hotels and tourism, mobile telecommunications, venture capital groups, radio and television, private equity and hedge funds.
Brian is ranked as a leader in contentious tax matters and regularly represents clients in tax disputes and investigations.
Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, Brian spent over 20 years practicing with a top five Irish law firm in their Tax practice. He is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, the Irish Taxation Institute and is recognised as a Tax Controversy Leader in Ireland by the International Tax Review and Lexology Index.
