Rachel
Mahoney

Rachel is a supervising associate in our international Digital Business group. She advises clients across the Technology, Media, Telecommunications, FinTech, Crypto and Financial Services sectors. She has experience in software licensing, data protection, intra-group arrangements, procurement of products and services, and other general commercial matters.

Rachel’s experience includes:

• advising a leading global financial institution on its partnership deal with one of the largest pan-European digital wealth manager companies;
• providing ongoing support on a retainer basis to a global online travel company with its procurement contracts and preparing policies and procedures to engage with the procurement legal team;
• advising a large telecoms group on a company wide data protection project, which includes remediating third party contracts and preparing internal data protection policies and guidance for the business;
• advising clients across all sectors on data protection matters, including advising on the impact of the Schrems II judgment and GDPR contract remediation;
• undertaking a part-time secondment to a global media advertising agency, negotiating tech and data licence agreements and providing advice across the business on day-to-day matters relating to current deals, potential risks, and commercial relationships; and
• advising a cryptocurrency exchange platform on a number of commercial matters, including the negotiation of its NFT and crypto partnership contracts and the creation and expansion of new entities in other jurisdictions.
