Joseph is a Supervising Associate in the Insurance & Construction team in London, within our international dispute resolution practice.

He represents a range of clients in multi-jurisdictional matters across a number of classes of business including; Casualty, Trade Credit and Political Risk, Product Liability, Property and Financial Lines. Joseph acts for insurance and reinsurance clients in disputes, often with an international element, and also advises on non-contentious issues, such as policy wording and drafting.

Joseph has particular experience of advising insurers on complex and high-value coverage matters and the associated arbitration of those disputes. Recent case experience includes:

• Acting for reinsurers in an arbitration concerning losses under an excess of loss reinsurance treaty.
• Advising insurers in relation to exposure to Business Interruption losses arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.
• Acting for excess insurers in a Bermuda Form arbitration concerning US property losses.
• Advising insurers on coverage under a range of policies, including commercial combined and general liability policies.

Joseph has a deep understanding of the needs of insurance clients, having assisted a number of insurers to resolve a range of difficult disputes, and completed two secondments to London Market insurers. Joseph has also presented on a number of insurance topics, including, Credit Insurance and Bermuda Form policies and their construction.
