Daniël is an associate in our Dispute Resolution group in Amsterdam.
The team represents clients in various industry sectors at all stages of domestic and international arbitration and litigation, including ICC, NAI, NCC and the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
Daniël has experience advising on commercial disputes arising out of a variety of agreements, including joint venture, shareholder, post-M&A, licensing, distribution, technology transfer and construction agreements.
Additionally, he counsels on matters of corporate governance, such as disputes about contractual and statutory obligations of shareholders and board members and distressed intracompany relations.
Daniël’s recent work includes the following:
- Succesfully defended two Chinese manufacturers of facemasks in an ICC arbitration against a claim for damages pursued by a German distributor of medical equipment. Counterclaim awarded;
- Succesfully defended a German transportation management company against an earn-out claim pursued by the Dutch vendor through NAI arbitration proceedings. Counterclaim awarded;
- Successfully defended one of the founding shareholders of Priogen Energy in inquiry proceedings brought up against it by the then CEO. Counter-request for inquiry and interim measures awarded - CEO dismissed by the Dutch Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
Daniël is also responsible for the Dutch Chapter for Thomson Reuters Practical Law on the topics ‘Attachment Order’, ‘Rules of Evidence’ and ‘Settlement of Disputes’.
