Senior Pro Bono and Responsible Business Manager

Laura is our Senior Pro Bono and Responsible Business Manager, leading Simmons & Simmons’ international pro bono and responsible business practices. She is responsible for setting and delivering the firm’s strategy in these areas across more than 20 offices in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Laura works closely with the International Pro Bono Committee to develop our international pro bono strategy and oversees high-impact projects that provide quality legal assistance to charitable and not-for-profit organisations worldwide. She also drives initiatives to embed responsible business practices throughout the firm. Laura sits on the firm’s Responsible Business Board and Business Acceptance Committee.

Before joining Simmons & Simmons, Laura was the Pro Bono Manager and Supervising Solicitor at the Pro Bono Centre, BPP University. In this role, she coordinated several key projects, including the Employment Law Telephone Advice Line, Legal Shadowing, and the Welfare Benefits Advice Clinic. Prior to her time at BPP, Laura practised as an employment lawyer in private practice.

Externally, Laura is co-Chair of the West of England Pro Bono Committee which encourages and supports the voluntary provision of free legal assistance to those in need by lawyers and legal professionals in the region. She also attends the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee and the regional steering group, working with other regional groups to promote pro bono engagement across the UK.

Laura holds the Civil Higher Rights of Audience qualification.
