Richard is a supervising associate and solicitor advocate in our tax disputes team.
He advises clients on a wide range of complex tax disputes and investigations, including commercial claims with tax elements and public law claims such as judicial review. Richard achieves good outcomes for clients under enquiry from the tax authorities and in mediation. He also has extensive experience of cases before the Tax Tribunals and Higher Courts (including the High Court and Court of Appeal). Richard works closely with his clients and Counsel teams to develop the right case strategy and then focuses hard on delivering a successful result.
Richard has been recognised as an ‘Associate to Watch’ in the Chambers and Partners’ legal directories since 2021. Contributors commented that Richard is “professional, helpful and knowledgeable in his field”. He is also described as a “key name for tax controversy” by Legal 500.
